Here at Damselfly Massage, my goal is to create a nurturing and relaxing experience for your whole body. I use Swedish and therapeutic techniques such as deep tissue, stretching/mobilization, pin and stretch, myofascial release, cupping, and Ashiatsu massage to get rid of stuck, sore, and painful spots.

My love of touch and wanting to help others led me to massage in 2015. Since then I’ve worked in a spa setting, for multiple chiropractic offices, and for myself, opening my own business in 2021. Throughout my career I’ve encountered a variety of clients with unique needs.

In 2021 I began learning Ashiatsu massage. Ashiatsu is a modality done with the therapists' feet. Using parallel bars above the table for balance, this modality is able to pair gravity with flowing strokes for a deep, consistent, and relaxing pressure. Ashiatsu can offer up to 3x the pressure of regular massage, without the pain— the broadness of the foot and heel are more gentle and accepted by the nervous system. I’m certified and trained through Deep Feet Ashiatsu Bar Therapy.
Ashiatsu isn’t for everyone due to its compressive nature. If you have one of the following, I will best serve your wellness needs with a hands on approach.
-
Pregnant or trying to conceive
-
Compromised immune system
-
Contagious skin disorders
-
High/Low blood pressure
-
Recent surgeries
-
Acute liver/kidney disorders
-
Autoimmune disorders
-
Advanced Diabetes

Ashiatsu
A luxurious deep tissue modality, Ashiatsu is an original Western barefoot technique that uses therapists' feet to apply deep pressure and effleurage strokes that glide over the body to work out myofascial adhesions, trigger points, and general tension.
Emily trained by Deep Feet in Portland in 2021.

Prenatal Massage
The benefits of prenatal massage are profound. Pregnancy can cause huge stress on the body, physically and emotionally. Using techniques safe for pregnancies along with proper positioning, this massage helps provide emotional support, relieve joint pain, improve breathing, and promote relaxation.

Emily is amazing! I went in for the first time today with some lower back stress and one hour later felt incredible. She took the time to assess what I needed from the massage, was friendly, and created a soothing environment. I will be back! Clean, welcoming, and had a great overall experience here.

Hands on, Emily's the best!
"Before the 3 car collision in Nov on Oregon Hwy. 205 I thought massage therapy was an indulgence only celebrated by the rich and famous.
After the accident...'massage' was recommended as an appropriate step to the road of recovery.
Over the months that followed, a number of massage therapists applied their skill set, of the many, one stood out, Emily Bowles, the most dedicated, thorough and caring. When the need arises, or just for the feeling of well-being and revitalized energy, ask for Emily."
-Bob Walker, Guide/Teacher, the "Oregon Fishing Club"
I went to the clinic to have my neck worked on. I have had massages for about 30 years fairly regularly an I have to say that Emily is hands down the best therapist I have ever had. She knows what she’s doing. Glad that I found her.
